This state-of-the-art tech package includes driver drowsiness monitoring, forward collision warning, and more.
The Accord’s upscale interior can seat up to five people, and both rows offer an abundance of legroom and elbowroom. If you want to use the Accord as your family car, you can use the back row’s two full sets of LATCH connections to secure car seats. The modern cabin is outfitted with high-end materials and smooth surfaces, and you can customize the look and comfort with available amenities found throughout the trim range. Interior options include a moonroof, power-adjustable front seats, ventilated and heated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and leather-trimmed upholstery. If you need to carry cargo, you’ll have plenty of storage space in the Accord’s 16.7-cubic-foot trunk.
The onboard infotainment system comes standard with a 7-inch display screen, a USB port, and Bluetooth®*. Technology options include a Wi-Fi hotspot, satellite radio, wireless device charging, smartphone connectivity, HD Radio, and navigation. The Accord also aced its crash tests, and it comes with standard safety systems like automatic emergency braking, road departure mitigation, and traffic sign recognition.
The Accord’s nimble handling stands out among midsize cars, and it offers one of the most engaging rides in its class. It remains calm even over rough and worn roadways, and it feels composed while taking corners and turns.
Honda has made two engine options available for the 2020 model. The standard powertrain is a 192-horsepower turbocharged 4-cylinder engine paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission. If you opt for the Sport trim, you can switch out the CVT for a hands-on six-speed manual. In the Touring trim, you’ll find a 252-horsepower turbocharged 4-cylinder that puts out 273 pound-feet of torque. It can be paired with either 10-speed automatic or manual transmission. True to its legacy, the Accord promises excellent gas mileage in town and on the highway.
History of the Honda Accord
Honda’s decision to release the Accord U.S. couldn’t have come at a better time. During the 1970s, American drivers were gripped with a severe gas crisis, and they were in dire need of a more fuel-efficient alternative to their gas-thirsty vehicles. The Accord offered a much-needed solution when it arrived in 1976, and drivers quickly fell in love with the sedan.
Even as the Accord became one of the market’s perennial favorites, Honda has never ceased to improve and innovate wherever possible. The modern Accord still retains its signature fuel efficiency, while its profile has been steadily streamlined over the years. The Accord blends comfort, reliability, and contemporary technology to appeal to families, everyday commuters, and drivers of all interests.
